Frequently Asked Questions

Whether you’re looking to join for a single event or become part of our permanent clan, we have opportunities for everyone. Our festivals span across the country, offering unique experiences at each venue.

Why should I join the Clan?

Do you like the buzz of festivals & live events? Do you want to meet new people and like-minded folk? Are you seeking to start or continue a career in the events industry? If any of these things apply to you – join us!

Whether you’d just like to volunteer for a few shifts and get some time off to enjoy the music, or maybe you want to train up to become a paid steward or supervisor, join the Clan and become part of the magic! ✨

How can I apply to volunteer & work at festivals?

If you just want to volunteer, you can apply directly via the volunteer application link on the ‘Join Our Clan‘ page

If you want to work multiple jobs with us, and advance into paid roles, you can apply through Liveforce. All you need to do is fill out a profile, and then you can browse all the jobs we have available! Click here for a guide on how to fill out a Liveforce profile.

Can I volunteer or work if I am under 18?

For safeguarding and legal reasons, we only recruit individuals aged 18 and over. Live events often involve long hours, late nights, and adult environments, which aren’t suitable for under-18s.

How will I find out if I have been confirmed for a position?

You will receive a notification via Liveforce informing you that your application has been successful.

What roles are available?

Volunteering
Scanning Staff
Stewarding Staff
Scanning Supervisors
Stewarding Supervisors

More information on roles is available on the ‘Join Our Clan‘ page

How do shift times work?

Shift times change depending on the nature of the event. Shifts can be between 6-12 hours, and may include night shifts. You will be informed about your shift details in advance.

Is training provided?

We provide pre-event briefing documentation, pre-shift briefings, and on-the-job training.

If you wish to upskill into paid roles in our Scanning or Stewarding teams, we offer role-specific training. We ensure that all Clan members have all the info they need to perform their role and have fun doing it!

If you are interested in becoming a supervisor/manager, we can offer subsidised training packages.

Can I volunteer/work with my friends?

We do our best to place friends together but cannot guarantee this. Remember, joining The Clan is a great way to make new friends, and you will always be surrounded by supportive and like-minded individuals!

Can I bring and camp with my children?

Unfortunately we cannot accommodate children accompanying staff or volunteers on site with The Clan.

Is Welfare Provided?

Before or after your shift, you can take a break and chill out at the Clan Hub. Recharge your phone, have a cup of tea and chat with your fellow Clanbassadors!

Our Welfare Plate operation provides delicious, nutritious food for Clan Staff! However, remember to practice Radical Self Reliance and bring snacks, and a reusable water bottle!

Can I apply to volunteer if I have accessibility requirements?

Yes. We strive to provide opportunities for all, please tell us about your accessibility needs via volunteer@clan.events well in advance of the event. Be aware some events are on a greenfield site. We do our best but sometimes you will be expected to traverse rough terrain.

How does the volunteer deposit work?

This works differently depending on the festival. Provided you complete your shifts, the volunteer bond will be refunded within 2 weeks of the festival finishing.

If a festival does not go ahead will my deposit be returned?

Yes.

Where do I stay when I'm at the festival?

Clan Members must provide their own accommodation. You can pitch your tent/park your camper in the staff campsite. If you wish to camp in general camping with your mates, you are more than welcome – just make sure you get some sleep before your shift! 😴

Make sure to bring a good quality tent and appropriate camping gear!

Anything else I should bring?

At the festival, you will be staying in a staff/volunteer campsite on the festival site. The location of the campsite will be shared alongside your approval information.

Single use, single skin tents aren’t very useful in the rain so make sure you get a decent quality one that is built to last. If you take care of it, a tent can last you for many years! More information on packing and preparation is available here

Are there further opportunities available with Clan?

Members that invest their time with The Clan events will discover many opportunities along the Clan Path. This includes Site School, accredited training courses, experience on event sites, and familiarity with Nord Events staff and other professionals in the events industry.
